The Report of The Poor Children Feeding Program
In four Villages in Kampong Thom Province, Cambodia.The Changes during Doing the Feeding
One behalf of the pastor of Evangelical Mission Church in Kampong Thom province, I am very grateful for the Fund which has been given by the Feed the Hungry. The workers and I are very happy because through this program we can see some changes in the lives of the children and their families.
For the children, we can see about 60% come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Lord and Saviour. Not even that, but they can go to school regularly because before we do the feeding sometime the children had to go sometimes looking for something that they could sell to earn some money to help their families.
But at the moment we can see that their parents allow them to go to school, they don’t worry about the food any more because they believe that through the feeding can help reduce the expenses from their income. Even though they can earn very little but they can afford to live and they can save some extra money as well for the emergency need.
For the parents, we can see about 30% of them come to know the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Lord and Saviour. All of them come to worship with us almost every Sunday, unless they are away, they can’t come to join the worship.
Actually we not just them only the Bible Story of word of God, but we teach them about health problem, hygiene, how to pray, and how to live a healthy life and how to obey and respect their parents and older people. They are very joyful to come to learn every day before we serve them food. So up to now they know how to pray and some can memorize some verses and know how to live a healthy live.Below two testimonies from a child and parents:
1- My name is Kuy Gnim, I live in Pren village, Prey Kuy commune stung Sen district, Kampong Thom province. I’d like to give a testimony through the feeding program that change my family, before all of us in the members of the family didn’t believe in Jesus, but when the feeding program started one of my children came to know Jesus and believes in Him. One day, all of our members in the families got sick like vomiting and diarrhea for a few days but my child didn’t have any problem because she believes in Jesus, that’s why we decided to believe in Jesus as well, because only Jesus who can help my family.2- My name is Sourn Saw, I live in Sror Yoa village, Sror Yoa commune, Stung Sen district, Kampong Thom province. I thank Jesus very much because before when I didn’t have any one me I couldn’t go to school regularly, but started when there is feeding program in my place, I come to eat and also study the bible stories, since that time I believe in Jesus and now I can come to school regularly.
On behalf of the parents, we are very thankful for the donors who provide the fund for doing the feeding program to help our children, we pray that God would bless all of you more abundantly and we ask you to help our children more in long term. We all wish God to give all of you good health, wisdom and strength.
CONCLUSION:
We can see that through the feeding not just only children come to believe in Jesus, but their parents as well. They look very healthy and happy now because they follow and practice of what we have taught them to do. They know to praise and worship God.
For me, I expect we can work to gather for long, long term so that we can help more children and their families living.With best regards!
