FTH will work once again through the Indonesian Relief Fund and Pondok Kasih.
Hanna Annanda, the head of the organisation was recently interviewed on the HARVEST SHOW, and we have worked with her organisation for many years.

When I spoke to Hana on Wednesday, she was not aware of the earthquake in Padang. News travel "slow" sometimes back home.
Dr. Eddy Ongga is an eye doctor and one of the volunteer staff that help Pondok Kasih weekly. He is in charge of the youth ministry at the twice monthly gathering at Gelora Pancasila gym in Surabaya. He is from Padang originally. His brother and parents are still residing in Padang, the epicenter of the quake. Their family are safe.
We have others in our churches that have family members that are still missing in Padang. Thank you for your prayers.
Dr. Eddy had left on the military plane (Hercules) at 3 pm PST (October 1) loaded with the items below plus Rice Meals (Feed My Starving Children) that we regularly send to Indonesia. It just so happened that the container of Rice Meals had received a release from the government. Great timing.
Dr. Eddy's brother has been taking pictures but there are no means of sending the pictures back to us. They would have to fly out and email the pictures.
Per Hana's email, they are looking to hire a boat to get more aid to Padang. It is a days journey to get from Surabaya to Padang.
"Thank you for helping us.
Our medical team arrived morning Oct 1 and another team arrived evening on 1st Oct,. We have now 3 teams.
Thank you for MAF who dedicated 1 small plane for transportation of our team. This has made our team and our logistics faster.
There are now 3 teams there. 1 team serving Pariaman, 1 team serving Pecinan area in Padang, and 1 team serving patients in the
our Posko. My highest appreciation to Indonesian Relief Fund, your donation enables us to maximize our medical services in all these area. Tonight we will be sending more medical supplies for surgery team in hospital.
We sent 2 ambulances to help our mobile medical clinic.
We were able to distribute bread ( roti coklat and roti Selai ), and are now distributing survival boxes ( beras dan makanan kaleng, kecap biscuit and air minum) one box can help family of 5 to survive 3 days.
1 box cost Rp. 100,000.-( US$ 10.-) and at this moment we are preparing 5000 boxes. The needs are huge.
We also prepare shelter kits terdiri 1 piece Terpal plus tali2nya 4X6.
Plastic untuk alas 2X3, 1 Kasur gulung and 2 blanket, lilin2 dan korek api.Harga 1 set shelter kit Rp. 350,000 ( US$ 35 ) 1 set can help 1 family of 5 or 6 to stay under a covered area at night.
If you ask me what they need ? these are the immediate needs."
I am writing reports (in separate emails with detailed number ad weight) to you now.
We need wheelchairs and crutches badly, so we will send more wheelchairs. We are starting loading the ship now with military truck.
The ship is free, our cargo is about 60 tons, we share with Jawa Post and Maspion, who give kitchen utensils, so we can make public kitchen. B/c the ship cannot leave if the cargo is not 100 tons.
It will leave Monday. So we will keep loading it.
Blessings,
Hana
Yesterday morning we agreed to a deal to pay a certain amount per ton, with more than 50 tons cargo. In the afternoon it was cancelled (I left to Medi to follow up). I went to investigate this morning. We already tried to contact the Maritime as in Nias but our cargo is not big enough to fill the whole ship (to Nias we have more than 15 containers, remember?)
Eddy ongga is supposed to leave this morning with Hercules. We heard they badly need tarps and we have bought about 400 tarps, all the stock. There is no tarp available round Medan, we have to bring from here. We already had 1000 cartons of water, 2 cont of SP boxes, 2000 blankets, 1000 baby sweater, children's clothes, medicine, noodles, sardines etc.
Blessings,
Hana
We had meetings and checked our warehouse to see what we can take, made arrangement if we could release the ricemeals, checked the hercules, bought very needed products such as tarps, canned food, noodles, blankets, water and from the containers, wheelchairs, clothes, baby sweaters etc.The people in Padang could not send emails, no electricity even to charge their computer or handphone. We managed to get a hercules, leaving from Malang tomorrow morning at 6.00, and will have to load it tonight, the one from Sby left early this morning.
Eddy Ongga will fly in the hercules. We can also have a ship leaving tomorrow afternoon arriving Sunday. We can take the tarps, noodles, water etc.
Please pray for us,
Blessings,
Hana
