31/5/06 - Emergency Appeal Letter Available

An appeal letter has been sent out to all partners and friends of FTH Australia through the mail. And can be downloaded here.

Excerpt from the appeal...

"Three local teams were dispatched immediately into the disaster: intercessors, pastors, and a medical team with an ambulance, doctor and paramedics. Each team brought as much aid, as they could physically carry. A fourth team traveled by truck bringing enough emergency rations to feed 1000 families.

Families are receiving food packs containing rice, noodles, oil, soap, clothing, baby formula, and children’s toys and whatever medical aid they can provide. But most importantly, they are providing prayer, counseling and sharing the Gospel to every single person.

FTH Australia has already sent enough funds to buy another 5000 food packs, but these rations will last only a matter of days. We need your help to sustain the survivors longer."

30/5/06 - Emergency Appeal - JAVA Earthquake

Excerpt of FTH Email Alert sent out Sunday 28th May:

"Many of you may have heard the terrible news about the earthquake yesterday in Indonesian, and the tragic loss of life. Survivors still live in the fear of a volcanic eruption as they search for family members and friends.

Right now, FTH has a partner ministry on the ground providing aid and shelters to the survivors of the Earthquake. The organisation was instrumental in our Tsunami Relief to the troubled Banda Aceh region. By God's providence, our partners were in the area assessing how they could help in the event of the volcanic eruption, and so God's people are right there when they are needed.

FTH is asking for urgent prayer covering for rescue workers from all teams and organisations as they diligently search for survivors. Food and water is a basic essential which we are looking for a local source to obtain.

FTH is now accepting donations for the JAVA EARTHQUAKE APPEAL.

For more information about giving to FTH (transfer money online, credit card or cheque and money order please click here.

Please include a note in all donations that it is for the JAVA
EARTHQUAKE APPEAL.

More information will be updated shortly.

PLEASE PRAY FOR INDONESIA."

18/5/06 - Four Nation Appeal - Expanded

Since the appeal letter was sent out last month, more requests for aid have come in. The need is so widespread--because the hunger in much of Africa is overwhelming.

And of all the pleas for help from Africa and indeed from around the world, from places you’ve never heard of, there is one common thread . . . one word they always use: “please.”

They are hoping, they are praying, they are crying out for help.
We are eager to answer their cry. We are now endeavoring to send food to Kenya & Niger.

Please pray about supporting this appeal and give generously.       To make a donation click here.

18/5/06 - Feeding EveryChild EveryDay Update

We recently received some updates from two of the Christian Orphanages that FTH is supporting as part of our Feeding EveryChild EveryDay program.

Your support through FTH has enabled these Christian childcare ministries to extend their borders and bring new children in and, in one case, to open another school knowing that the children’s meals would be provided for.

JOSHUA YOUTH ACADEMY in Ethiopia

Feeding EveryChild EveryDay at Joshua Academy - Feed The Hungry AustraliaChildren at this Christian Orphanage in Ethiopia are cared for in large apartments with 12-16 other children. Each apartment has four rooms with two sets of double-bunk beds inside. Each Dormitory has a permanent live-in mother.

“I am grateful for Feed The Hungry’s compassion to our children and nation as a whole. Our orphanage ‘Joshua Youth Academy’ was established to care for the children who lost their families due to HIV/AIDS and other calamities. Currently the orphanage extended its service for 50 orphans who are orphans indeed, having lost both their father and mother. We will extend our ministry to 72 and then to 144 orphans phase by phase as our new building project is completed.

Feed The Hungry last year donated food items which fed our children for nearly a years time. We are so grateful to Feed The Hungry for the aid you have given. I appreciate your consideration and generosity to bless us with food support as God prospers you.”

ABUNDANT LIFE CHILDREN'S HOME in Thailand

Feeding EveryChild EveryDay in Thailand - Feed The Hungry AustraliaDrugs, Prostitution, Poverty and False Religion are snaring the youth in Thailand. Without an opportunity for a decent education and Godly guidance, these kids are normally easy targets.

Children who would otherwise have no hope are finding a positive environment where dreams and visions come alive. Trained up in the Word of God and given a proper education, these kids are growing up with hope, faith and vision.

“The children at our refugee school have all been born in this camp. Their families fled from Burma back in 1995 to become refugees on Thai soil. These children know nothing of the world except refugee life. The camp provides meager portions of rice, salt, and fermented bean wafers; hardly enough to make a decent meal. The children at Living Word School are provided with a daily hot meal of vegetables, meat or egg along with rice or noodles. For many this is a highlight of their day!

Feed The Hungry is helping us to provide nourishing meals for over 500 children in the Nation of Thailand; children who otherwise would be left to fend for themselves. We give our heartfelt thanks for helping us to fill their bellies. Through this simple act we have been able to demonstrate the love of God and fill their hearts with the Word of God.”
