LeSEA International Prayer Day - Feed The Hungry Australia

My father, Lester Sumrall, was born February 15th, 1913 in New Orleans - home to the present-day WHNO TV 20.

During meager times for the family God provided through the power of his praying mother.

The family settled in Florida after numerous moves around the Gulf region. It was there, at age 17, that Lester faced the greatest challenge of his life thus far. He contracted tuberculosis in both lungs. He seemed destined to die.

But God had other plans for young Lester. His praying mother wept and cried out to God the same night the doctor predicted he had only hours to live.

Lester & Louise Sumrall - Feed The Hungry AustraliaThat night God visited Lester and gave him a choice:

Preach and live; resist and die!

He quickly decided to preach and dedicated himself to winning souls, telling the Gospel message and setting about a ministry - that today reaches the four corners of the earth.

Prayer is the foundation of this ministry! My father was healed through the prayer of his mother, and many miracles have taken place for this ministry through prayer. We have seen thousands of people healed, saved, transformed and restored through prayer. We have received many; many praise reports of financial miracles and relationships restored. We believe in prayer.

"There is no power known to man more effective than the prayers of a God-fearing people." (Dr. Lester Sumrall)

In 1968 when we founded our local radio station in South Bend, WHME FM 103.1, prayer became a valuable part of the broadcast station with a program at 9 AM every day hosted by Dr. Sumrall called "May I Help You Please". The program revolved around praying for the needs of our friends and partners.

Today, our World Harvest Prayerline receives and answers thousands of calls from all over the globe! Prayer is our foundation and calling.

Every year, LeSEA takes the month of February to place extra emphasis on prayer and the needs of our partners.

Peter Sumrall at Western Wall for International Prayer Day - Feed The Hungry AustraliaHere's what we will do:

Firstly the Australian staff of Feed The Hungry will pray for your requests on February 15th, the anniversary of my Father's birthday.

Secondly, on February 20, we will have a special day of prayer in our International Prayer Center and on the Harvest Show and pray again for your prayer requests.

Thirdly, on the same day, I personally will take these prayer requests to the Western Wall, the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, where at this place, more prayer has gone forth than any other place on earth!

We believe in prayer. During these times of change in our country, the world and our economy, we know there are needs, serious needs and we want to stand in agreement with you for miracles.

Peter Sumrall - Feed The Hungry AustraliaWe are blessed like no other ministry on earth with the ability to touch the four corners of this earth with the Gospel. Every day, our signals cross-oceans, continents and into the hearts of men, women and children all who need the message of Jesus Christ.

The sun never sets on the ministry outreaches of LeSEA.

Help us reach out to the world.
