As part of the Feeding EveryChild EveryDay initiative in Uganda, we are partnering with four organisations to Feed The Hungry:-
In northern Uganda, in a place called Pader, refugees are starving despite the nearby presence of the U.N.
In the north and east of Uganda at least 35 people are reported to have recently died of starvation. The government said last week that so far 51 districts had requested relief food.
Local and national leaders blame the famine on weather calamities starting with the floods of late 2007. After the floods came drought, tempered by late and poor rains, which resulted in food stress during much of 2008. The same pattern recurred in the first half of this year, culminating into the current drought.
They have recently received some rainfall, and new crops have been planted, but the harvest will not be ready for many months.
FTH has sent emergency funds, in partnership with C3 Oxford Falls, directly to their ministry partner in nearby Pader. Food will be donated to the most vulnerable.

Long time ministry partner in Uganda, Irene Gleeson, was recently honoured by the Australian Government for her long service to children affected by war and HIV/AIDS in Northern Uganda. Irene Gleeson, now 64, has been working in North Uganda for 20 years. By coincidence we have highlighted her work in the latest FIELD REPORT.
Irene is the founder of Childcare Kitgum Servants, one of the four Ugandan ministries we have the privilege of supporting. Irene was honoured with the “Order of Australia” on the Queen’s Birthday - one of our nation’s highest civil awards!
We congratulate her for the well-deserved recognition of her many years of hard work.
Greetings in the name of the Lord, I do want to thank you all for the kids materials that we received through FTH. They have blessed us indeed in having the right materials and the teacher training materials in the kids ministry, the kids so enjoy Sunday School and their teachers also!
The kids that used to dodge Sunday school now go without a push, this includes my own son who had never gone to the kids church. We have also blessed several churches with these materials, we thank God that the school building is partly finished so we can now start using a larger facility to handle the increasing numbers.
I have also sent you a picture of how Priscilla looks like after starting to use the vitamins that Feed The Hungry sent, they are very very effective, she was helping clear the school yard of broken bricks as they prepare to start using this building.
Thank you very much.
Ps. Solomon
During a recent Trip to Uganda, Ps. Solomon from King Solomon's Academy in Kampala introduced our team to Destiny Boarding School.
Located about 90mins outside the main city, this outreach ministry rescues street children and brings them into a full-time care facility.
They have 677 children right now, but are desperately under funded. They had been only able to feed them limited corn meal and some beans. As a result of this very poor diet, many of the children had distended bellies, reddish & thinning hair.
So moved at the desperate situation, Ps. Solomon immediately pledge half of the rice meal he had only just received to help this school.
Destiny Boarding School, along with King Solomon's Academy and Childcare Kitgum Servants is our third Uganda ministry supported through EveryChild EveryDay initiative.
Our outreaches in Burundi are part of the ECED initiative to support Christian Orphanages and ministries with a focus on children. You can help these programs continue to impact entire families with your regular support.
Every $6 will provide 100 hot and nutritious meals.
